Summer Program Intern

Life Adventure Center is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic program interns, to assist with facilitation of our Outdoor Adventure, Challenge Course, and Environmental Education Programs. The Program intern provides facilitation and coordination in all aspects of the Challenge Course, Mobile Unit, Environmental Education and Outdoor Adventure programs (hereafter referred to as “Programs”). Working within these programs may include facilitation of single or multiday courses, including but not limited to the following areas: challenge course, paintball, equestrian, environmental education, hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, caving, canoeing, backpacking, wilderness survival, camping and multidiscipline courses. During any given week this individual should expect to spend the majority of their time facilitating within one of our three programs as a lead or co-facilitator. The remaining time will be spent on program planning, and preparation, maintenance, administrative duties and supporting other LAC programs.

Major Gifts Officer

The Major Gift Officer will be an energetic, gregarious and passionate fundraising professional responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing and stewarding major gifts for Life Adventure Center’s innovative and life-changing outdoor programs. Operating within a “small shop” advancement team, the ideal candidate will work closely with and report to the Executive Director. He/she will have experience identifying and building long term relationships with donors and community partners. He/she will possess a proven track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and closing four to six figure gifts. He/she will exhibit a passion for the impact outdoor adventure programming can have on at-risk kids, veterans and adults recovering from trauma. This new position represents an opportunity to “make your mark” within a burgeoning development effort. More importantly, it represents an opportunity to profoundly impact our clients’ lives by supporting unique, cutting-edge, evidence-based experiential educational camps & retreats for disadvantaged populations!

Volunteer: Trail Maintainer

Life Adventure Center operates a beautiful 575 acre facility on Milner Road (Versailles) as well as the 374 acre Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary near Millville (Franklin Co.). The trail maintainer will help maintain pre-existing trails on the LAC/ Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary property by walking the trails, picking up trash and debris as appropriate.

Part Time Facilitator

Program Coordinator

Located in the beautiful rolling hills of central Kentucky, Life Adventure Center is a 570 acre outdoor, experiential education center. Our programs innovatively combine evidence-based theories of experiential education, psychology, meditation, neuro-plasticity, equine assisted learning/psychotherapy, challenge to build resiliency, communication, teambuilding and leadership skills. So much more than mere recreation, our outdoor adventures employ a guided process to achieve life-changing, break-thru transformations. Our programs help PTSD veterans heal, military families reconnect, and impoverished kids build resilience.
